Janjaweed Continues to Commit Human Rights Abuses

The kidnappers of the merchant Ahmed Mohamed Ismail (Roboa’ Tagir; see 26 June Update) have asked for a ransom of SDG 50,000, equivalent of around $10,000, to release him.

Malwi village 27th June 2014
Janaweed militia attacked the village of Malwi, South west of Gereida, burning the village to ashes. They killed Mariam Abdalla Nourein and abducted Bahr Dawood Abdelmoula, Salih Tarfo and Yousif Haroon. In addition 49 persons are missing and unaccounted for.

On the same day the Janjaweed militia kidnapped Adam Abu Tarboush from Al-Hilaila village, north-east of Kass.
