Zalingei:7th Oct13
Mohamed Raja, a merchant in Zalingei, was abducted by unidentified armed men. He was taken from in front of his home as he was returning from the market. Mohamed Raja was forced into a four wheeled Land Cruiser car and driven out of Zalingei, to the north of the town.
Zalingei: 8th Oct13
In response to Mohamed Raja's abduction, IDPs from Hasahisa and Hamedia camps headed towards the city of Zalingei for demonstrations. They were met by police and Sudanese Armed Forces deployed with heavy weapons throughout Zalingei. No causalities were reported. The market in Zalingei totally closed in solidarity with the abducted merchant Mohammed Rajab.
