Six Civilians Killed by Aerial Bombardment in South Kordofan


In a recent aerial attack on Al-Mandil village, west of Dilling, two women and four children were reported to have been killed.

  3. Fatouma Bushra Kadam(f) 7 yrs
  4. Halima Khalifa Karbous(f) 7 yrs
  5. Khadiga Komondan Musa(f) 5 yrs
  6. Safia Khalifa Karbous(f) 5yrs

In addition to the death of the six above, two homes were damaged as a result of the attack. These were the houses of Um al-Hassan Kabashi and of Fatma Shayib. Furthermore, a mill for grinding sorghum belonging to Galal Musa was damaged.

It is reported as of 25th August that aerial attacks continue to affect civilians and civilian properties.

SUDO (UK) calls on all parties to the conflict to respect international human rights and humanitarian law. All those involved should refrain from seeking to use tribal identity to exacerbate the conflict.

SUDO (UK) is calling for an independent commission of inquiry into the human rights violations in South Kordofan and for all those responsible to be brought to justice.

SUDO(UK) is also calling on all of Sudanese civil society to engage and advocate for peace and reconciliation and peaceful coexistence in South Kordofan.
