On Thursday 11 December 2014 a group of Military Intelligence, belonging to the Fourth Command in Um Kadada Military area, detained Ahmed Abdalla Mohammed.
On Saturday 13 December the same group arrested Omer Khatir, Ahmed Adam and Adam Bushara from their homes. All were tortured.
On Sunday 14 December, Ahmed Abdalla Mohammed died as a result of torture and his body was delivered to his family. The others were transferred to Al-Fasher hospital after their condition deteriorated.
Two cases have been filed with the Attorney General in Um Kadada, against 12 military intelligence personnel, including their leader Yahya Abdelrahim Abbas.
The reason for the arrests was that one of the military intelligence members claimed that the men had stolen his weapon.
On the 17 December the North Darfur Governor, accompanied by the Chief of Staff in Al-Fasher, visited the family of the dead person to offer their condolences. They said that those who committed the crime will be brought to justice.
SUDO (UK) calls on the Government to immediately arrest the perpetrators of this crime, swiftly bring them to justice in a fair trial, and punish them.
