Under the watch of the UNAMID and the International community the Janjaweed militias continued killing, raping, abducting and displacing civilians in Darfur

North Darfur -Tawila 16th June 2014

On Monday 16th of June 2014 four girls, between the ages of 15 and 20, were raped by Janjweed Militia members in Tawila village north Darfur.

On the same day in Kalma IDP Camp, South Darfur, two IDP girls were raped and five IDP persons were abducted by Janjaweed militia members, two from the abductees were identified as: Adam Mohammed Musa and Yagoub Musa.

Dereig IDPs Camp-South Darfur

On the 17th of June 2014 a group of Janjaweed militia looted the camp clinic and robbed all its contents including furniture, equipment and drugs.

Tor IDPs Camp- Central Darfur 18th June 2014

Eltigani Mohamed Ali, aged 64, was killed inside his house in the camp by a group of Janjaweed militia in Tor, North West Kass at Nyala-Zalingei road.

Kabkabyia town-North Darfur

On the 19th of June 2014 five persons were killed and six injured by Janjaweed militia group led by Eisa Al-Masih. One of those killed was identified as Nasreldin Ibrahim Adam.

SUDO calls on the Sudan Government to fulfil its obligation to protect civilians in Darfur. Militias that kill, rape, abduct and displace civilians should be disbanded without delay, and the Government should investigate and hold accountable those responsible.

UNAMID must immediately act to fulfil its mandate to protect civilians in Darfur. It must fully investigate human rights abuses by all parties and make the report of investigations public.
